Differentiating the Numbers,

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Today marks 22 sworn officers killed in the line of duty this year*, approximately seven (32%) of who’s family likely identified them as Black or Brown. Seven fallen sons and daughters who left the comforts of their homes to serve and never returned. Their loss is presumably numbing upon their families.

Their loss will create a gap in the hard work of bridging relationships in the Black & Brown communities which, in many ways, are themselves numb.

Differentiating the numbers matter BECAUSE communities are numb and representation matters in reducing the numbers of Black & Brown sons & daughters lost in conflict in communities of color.

Providing a voice for ALL Black & Brown, including those in Blue, matters because we are MOMS of BOTH.
